Greetings Bison!

We are excited about your new journey here at Howard University. First-Year Experience (FYE) is designed to assist with your transition to the university environment. Our programs are intended to NAVIGATE and support student development throughout the first year at Howard, as well as direct you to resources that will aid in achieving optimal success in your academic goals.

We believe that transformative engagement rather than transactional engagement will enhance the overall student experience that will in essence take your learning outside of the classroom. During your first year at Howard be prepared for the ride of your life. We encourage you to read more about our ROAD MAP program and other services offered to first-year students.

First-Year Experience Goals

  • Establish and identify clear connections that will assist in the transition to the university environment
  • Provide students with direct resources and support that will enhance their academic and social success
  • Engage in shared diverse learning experiences
