I want to personally welcome you to Howard University. You are joining an elite group of students who are embarking on the next chapter in their life. College is an opportunity for you to explore all aspects of the institution. It is the goal of the university to ensure that you will have a high quality education and employable skills that will prepare you for the job market. The possibilities are endless and it is my hope that you will take advantage of all that the institution has to offer.

The Office of Student Success and Transition's mission is to provide innovative programs that facilitate student success at Howard University. From perspective students through alumni, we develop and implement programs that support the university's commitment to graduate global leaders who are prepared to succeed.

To ensure student success, retention and completion, the office has four main goals:

  • Provide a true liberal arts experience that builds global leaders
  • Engage the campus community to redefine teaching and learning
  • Provide students with the academic support to be successful in the classroom
  • Collect and utilize data that drives design, evaluation and completion of degree programs

We are committed to ensuring that you will be prepared for all academic challenges you might face. We collaborate with the university community to provide academic support and experiential programs that will support and enhance your university experience.
